Since I was a child I looked up at the sky with fascination and awe.

The stars in their breathtaking configurations clearly evoked a suspicion that the greatest mysteries of life are unknown to me.

I felt so little and meaningless in comparison. But it’s all in perception I guess.  

I wondered where does it all begin and does it have an end?

And where are we, you, me, and the rest of our tiny planet in this amazing creation?

One thing is certain, the planets affect us in profound ways whether we admit it or not.

Many years later when I was asked during a live interview, what do planets have to do with our hands and each finger,

and the host had a rather doubtful disposition, I quickly and without hesitation asked him if he believed in low and high tide.

“Well, yes of course!” he answered.

“Well, then” I continued,

“If the Moon can affect such a large body of water as the ocean, and since we are made of mostly water it clearly affect us, tiny itsy bitsy humans.”

To that he said nothing for a few moments and then his disposition became that of an inquirer with interest and less doubt.

 

Yes, the planets affect us and what’s even more fascinating,

each one of us has this incredibly intricate and unique celestial map bestowed upon us at the precise time and location of our birth.

And of course the art of astrology is incredibly complex, certainly much more than just looking up your Sun sign when your birthday occurs.

One can not stash all individuals under same sign into a general category of how they are, will be, and want to be.

No, this is not what we'll be exploring in our course..
